Updated TC3 agenda available

The updated draft agenda for the TC3 meeting in Montreal is now available.  This agenda will be the basis for the meeting folder prepared by the IEC/CO.

Some documents, mainly reports, are still missing. These will be handled as meeting documents and available on this site before the meeting if sent to me in advance by the authors.

IEC 82045-2 Metadata for document management

The circulation of document 3/677/CDV for comments and voting until the middle of December 2003 has now been initiated.

To ease the study a slide presentation series have been prepared (as a Montreal meeting document), and the EXPRESS SCHEMA and the XML DTD are available for download and test.

Note that an XML tool should be used to open the XML DTD. A normal web browser might try to open it as an XML document and fail.

TC3 agenda available

The draft agenda for the TC3 meeting in Montreal is now available.

A number of document references are still missing in it. Therefore, it will be successively updated on this site. An official, revised version will be available in September.

Schedule for the meetings of TC3 and SCs in Montreal

TC3 with SCs will hold their next plenary meetings in Montreal in October in connection with the IEC General Meeting 2003.

The time schedule shown in the official programme of the IEC GM 2003 has been changed. The meetings are to be held as follows:

Maintenance of standards

The standards IEC 62023 Structuring of technical information and documentation, IEC 62027 Preparation of parts lists, IEC 62079 Preparation of instructions - Structuring, content and presentation and IEC 81714-2 Design of graphical symbols for use in the technical documentation of products - Part 2: Specification for graphical symbols in a computer sensible form including graphical symbols for a reference library, and requirements for their interchange and –3 …- Part 3: Classification of connect nodes, networks and their encoding, are due for the circulation of a Maintenance Cycle Report (MCR) this year.

The MCR should propose what needs to be done with the actual standards (reconfirmed | revised | amended).

It is the task of the Maintenance Team Convenors to prepare the MCR. The MT Convenor is expected to collect information of relevance for the maintenance.

Users of these standards are therefore encouraged to inform the MT Convenors listed below of suggestions and proposals that might be relevant.

Changes in the IEC 60617 database during January

Following the processing of a number of change requests in accordance with the normal database procedure as well as with the extended procedure, 9 symbols have been withdrawn and 4 new symbols released during January.
